A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
5.0
It has been a long time since I have read a book that has made me feel the way this novel did. I do not speak lightly when I say that this text will devastate you, but it is one of the most stunning works I have read. Hemingway packs this text with incredible symbols and images that will leave you shattered but that will also shape how you view the world in one of the most beautiful ways. He intersects the world of love and the world of war in an extremely depressing, poignant, existentialist, and modern way, and there's not a lot not to love about this work. I, unfortunately, am left so stunned at the end of this book that I don't have many words, but I can assure you that you will not be disappointed after reading it. I wish that I could read it again for the first time, but I know I'd have to put me through that same level of devastation again. I highly recommend this book.
