She’s like sunshine no matter what time of the day it is.

3⭐️ while I enjoyed the friends to lovers trope, I did find that this book could have ended around chapter 20 if she just talked about the forest incident right then at the wedding and let them fight it out. It would have amounted the same conclusion with Poppy and Booker, with or without the pregnancy.

Ugh, plus I hate pregnancy tropes.

Someone else had the review “I loved this book until I didn’t” and I totally agree. I found Booker did a 180 once Poppy finally expresses her feelings for him... which should have been obvious to him from the beginning. Booker freaking out over an “I love you” from his supposed best friend he’s known practically his whole life was a bit off putting and annoying. But ai guess we needed the classic dude needs to pull away until he realizes what he’s about to lose.

Why is it suddenly weird for him. Boys are the worst. “I don’t know if I can trust you” ..bro, what? Because she went to Germany without telling you first? GET OVER YOURSELF. And then has the audacity to laugh at her after she tells him what that forest meant to her? Ew. “Don’t cheapen what I felt, Booker” YOU TELL HIM! Then he tells her he doesn’t want to fall in love “then what are you doing with me?” Ugh my heart is breaking for her. “I don’t know. I’m just trying I guess” how dare you.

“Trap myself in another loveless life with you”

“You’ve had a lifetime to fall in love with me. If it was going to happen it would have by now.” But honestly. What did he expect. How do you not love your best friend?

Eventually it all works out and Booker finally admits he loves her. Only took her leaving again for him to get over himself.
