Wow… this was a tough read. The courage, fight and strength these characters have. I will always remember this book. It was so sweet until it was heartbreaking. I highly recommend going in blind but look into triggers. I loved the concept of A Thousand Boy Kisses and the meaning behind it. Was such a sentimental moment that I appreciated. I loved the plot even though I was in pieces at the end. Also every page had a sentence that gripped me and hurt! Poppymin will always be on my mind when I think of this book.
This doesn’t get five stars and let me explain why.
I understand why people would DNF this. It’s not realistic even though we know it’s fiction. These characters loved so hard and were talking like adults at ages 15 and 17. Not to mention at age 5 things said and happened that I believe no five year old would do. Also it’s a bit repetitive on a lot of things and Juvenile.
So overall it would make sense these characters are teenagers.
But personally I pushed the realistic thoughts and age element to the side and overall enjoyed this read.
