This one was definitely very slow. I loved poppy in the first book. This one she was extremely annoying. I get being distrustful at first, but get over it dude. She was just being stupid.
I loved the banter, it was great.
I love Casteel, I want one. He does get to be a little too much once in awhile, but overall I really like him. I love all the causal affection he gives poppy and just how he treats her in general. He keeps saying he doesn’t deserve her? Heck… what the hell has she ever done for him. It’s the other way around my dude.
Also very annoyed with how often they bring up her asking questions. I get why she is, that’s the authors way of introducing things to us. But come on, I was so tired of that dialogue.
And what was with all the smut??? It was so unnecessary. Loved it in the first, this book it was just so excessive and sometimes just downright weird and inappropriate.
Overall… even though I complained a lot, I still am super interested in the story and love the world. I am very interested to see where it goes, especially with that ending and hope the next book isn’t as slow
