The Bonds That Break Us
by Erin Mainord
I enjoyed the continuation of Wren and Sin’s story. After the ending of book one, I was worried that Wren would forgive Sin too quickly, so I did appreciate the rough journey to heal their relationship. Each of them is carrying some significant baggage from terrible parents.
I liked the pacing of this book - it starts a little slow as we pick up several weeks after the events in book one. Once the action starts happening, I felt like I sped through this book. Wren has been stewing in her anger and finally embraced her power, knowing that she has full control over it. Sin is still not a “good” guy, but now his moral compass points to Wren. We get introduced to some new and interesting characters, and I felt like overall, the characters made more of an impression in this book.
The ending though! I stayed up to see what happened. And that teaser for a ritual I hope we see in book 3? Yes, please.
Thank you to R&R Book Tours and the author for providing a review copy. My opinions are my own.
