Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

5.0

An Odyssey of black life in Britain , incredible engagement with modern culture and a literalisation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's rebellion against the Single Story, love how she uses language to distribute power (eg detailing the domestic lives of characters and not naming the university Carole goes to, her rebellion against the novel form through her polyvocal narrative, poetic prose and lack of capitalisation) , loved the play element and performance and public image , just so clever over all!
