Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan

5.0

tws: rape, domestic violence.

this book has quickly become one of my all time favourites. it is easily one of the best books i’ve read this year for sure. august and iris gripped me from their first meeting in that first chapter, and they still have me in a chokehold. i loved their story and kennedy’s writing just blew my mind took over my life for the 3 days it took me to read this book.

this book was so raw and painful, but also so beautiful. of course there are moments in the book that are so hard to read but as gut wrenching those scenes were, Iris’ developments and growth from her past traumas was amazing to read about. the research into the topics presented in the book were clearly thoroughly researched and i loved the way female strength was portrayed.

august west is one of the best book boyfriend’s i’ve read about, he is literally the perfect man lol i love him so much. iris is also a queen and she deserves the world and more. watching them finalllyyyy come together after years of waiting, pining and a lot of pain was so wholesome and their love is something for the history books!

all in all, clearly i loved this book and our main characters a lot, and i cant wait to carry on with this series and read more of kennedy ryan’s work.
