The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead by Max Brooks

5.0

As a fan of all things zombie, I loved this book. Not only is it a very entertaining read, it is highly informative too and many of its lessons can be applied to more than just the Zombie Apocalypse with tips on how to defend yourself, family and friends and your home/fortress from raiders and bandits as well as the zombie menace.

Brooks has obviously thought long and hard about the zombie issue, including it possible origins, potential for spread and how to survive in the long term (more specifically how long the zombies in question will take to decompose completely). The recorded events section at the end of the book puts his advice into context and shows how such situations should (and shouldn't) be handled. All in all I loved this book and was very tempted to place it under non-fiction rather than humour, especially when watching The Walking Dead and seeing all the things they were doing wrong!
