I was told this book had a great twist.. so maybe that gave me too much bias, but that aside, I felt like it was building up to something for so long and then never really revealed anything? It was like they built up to something and then slowly leaked all the air out of the balloon. It felt disappointing and a bit predictable.

I found all the characters almost unbearable. This book also gave me such an ick from the start when the narrator was describing how attractive the dead body was 🤮

Adding to the anticlimax was the elements that were clearly just devices for the author to tell us something. The Jane chapters and the journal really could have been used for more in the plot.

All this being said I still wanted to keep reading to see what was going to come out, and I had fun discussing it with chase.
