4.5 stars rounded up- I don’t tend to score romance so close to a 5, but this one is truly good. It’s got great quippy dialogue, wonderful and real side characters, a sizzling romance, and so much heart. The BRACA-1 & rediscovery of self that Alison goes through, along with her emotional journey, was so real and tangible. As someone who has also sat in a cancer clinic and felt both incredibly relieved to not have cancer but so guilty for being luckier than the others in the waiting room & still being sad about surgery needed- let’s just say I related to Alison on a level I did not expect. The book is both incredibly cute and amazingly grounded. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
