This has an interesting premise: a cartoonist who writes/draws about the first year of a new member's first term in the State Assembly, and gets to know her and her staff. I kind of liked it because it peeled back the curtain somewhat on what I think many of us don't know, but did it in a genuine way. I think I like that the cartoonist was (if I'm not mistaken) deeply involved in politics before this project, so she was learning about the in-and-outs of the political process in her city and state as she lived the experiences she shows us. I also like that… most of the conflicts that are brought up are not inter-party conflicts: it's how members of one party get along (and how they don't).
