If you finished book 3 and were left unsatisfied with how the story left off the relationship between Shen QingQiu and Luo BingHe, the stories in this volume do a lot to show the progression of their relationship, which is ultimately very fucking weird and codependent but in a consensual and loving way.
Cannot stress the very fucking weird part enough. SQQ endures painful and clumsy sex in some stories, which he claims to only tolerate because of LBH’s crocodile tears, but after 4 books, I have learned to assume that a lot of what SQQ says is bluster to save face (hello, tsundere trope). Who knows whether he ultimately enjoys it, but it’s at least clear that he enjoys indulging LBH and consents to the kinky shit. Anyway, these two are a hot mess that deserve each other. I wish this MILF and his wife-guy disciple all the best trying to navigate their weird-as-hell sex life.
The other side stories were delightful, especially the ones between Shang QingHua and MoBei Jun. I have a newfound love for Airplane Bro.
The only thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars was the transphobic slur and the 100 questions chapter, which was revealing about the main pairing but leaned into the same jokes and tropes to an annoying degree.
