Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson

5.0

I don't usually review, but this book really resonated with me. It doesn't shy away from reality, covers some topics that to some readers are "too dark" but to a lot of people from small Canadian towns with few jobs, bad drugs/alcoholism, and discrimination - that's just life. Fantasy novels tend towards escapism, but I thought this novel brought something different to the table. Can't wait to pick up the sequel.
