Definitely fun to return to the world and characters of Captive Prince. Definitely makes me want to reread the series at some point, encouraging to know I'm still interested and invested.
Very surprised about how much I enjoyed reading from Ancel's perspective, his whole vibe and thought processes combined with how his short story sat within the overall timeline of the series was hugely interesting.
2024 reread
I figured, why not reread this after rereading the main trilogy - the final week and a bit of the year is always a strange time for reading consistently for me, but I am determined to keep my habit (and like 135 day streak) going this time. This was fun, and cute, and a little heartbreaking as is tradition for this trilogy.
