Closer to a 3.5/5. A highly enjoyable, action-packed novel. However, compared to the first Jurassic Park book, The Lost World falls a little flat (e.g., I couldn't put Jurassic Park down, but I definitely could put The Lost World down). However, my biggest critique is

that the ending of the book turns out so well. If this situation happened in real life (obviously it won't, but still), there's no way two children would make it off the island alive. Am I glad they did? Yes, but Jurassic Park was much more realistic with the terror and the likelihood of death than The Lost World.
