Not to judge, but I would have passed up this book based on the cover alone. I'm not into the "canis lupus familiaris" genre at all. However, a great friend and trusted reader raved about this book, so I dove in. So glad that I did. It's a meditation on grief, writing, reading, friendship and connection; and one great big dog. You won't soon forget it.
