His at Night
by Sherry Thomas
I was quite confused with this book. I thought the characters were well developed, but the plot, because it is such a different story, could have been better developed. At points, I lost all my interest in the book, and I had to soldier on to keep reading. Other times, my reading seemed to flow a lot better.
I think it was a lost opportunity because of the kind of story the author wanted to tell. It involved a mystery, it was basically a spy story, but as the reader wasn't given enough clues to try to solve the mystery, in the end it wasn't as satisfying. Also, the romance part was a lot disappointing, seeing as there was a lot of lost time with the adventures. It wasn't developed properly.
It could have been better, but it tried to be a lot of things at the same time and it ended not being anything.
