Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss

3.0

Hmmm, this is an interesting one.
I felt this story did not know what it wanted to be.
Did it want to be a cute Christmas story with usual family shennanigans or did it want to be this drama of sorts with social commentary.

Due to this dichotomy, not enough time were spent on the social issues which led to minimal character growth. The death of Tristan created an underlying macabre tone throughout.

The third act conflict was lazy and my most hated type of conflict. No grovelling and no honest, open conversation took place. Just an airy-fairy hallmark-type make-up scene.

I also felt this story went on for a bit too long.
