A high fantasy in the style of the Lord of the Rings, Maerad is the chosen one, destined to defeat the great evil known as the Nameless. Same general outline as Harry Potter, in other words, except much less fun. Maerad came off as incredibly whiny and spoiled, despite her background, and her treatment of Cadvan really got on my nerves. Probably won’t be continuing with the series.
