Waiting for Sunshine by Sarah Pirtle
3.0

So, this book wasn’t a genre that I normally read, but I’ve followed the author’s journey on Instagram and gave it a shot. I normally stick to fantasy/adventure/romance. I also don’t usually read first person POV.

I liked the characters. They were lovable and easy to root for. I was a little disappointed that the main characters seemed to have a very distinct stereotypical feel, but I do often lean towards less modern characters.

I would have loved to have spent more time in their feelings - for example: the grief of losing her boyfriend, the stress of moving across country, etc. I think I would have connected more with the characters if we had.

I felt like there was a lot of importance resting on the spice level. She does write a great sex scene.

Tucker was definitely my favorite character and I loved his relationship with Shane. And the passion he shows when he finally calls Max on his bullshit.

Overall, the storyline was sweet and I enjoyed it. If you read through half of it, the second half is when it really gets started.
