Weird Things People Say In Bookstores by Jen Campbell

4.0

'Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops' by Jenn Campbell is a non-fiction book compiled of conversations booksellers have had with customers. It is accompanied with illustrations by Brothers McLeod which show the absurdity of the questions customers ask.
The book is divided into three sections: Tales from the Edinburgh Bookshop, Tales From Ripping Yarns, and Weird Things Customers Say in Other Bookshops. Each section is compiled of weird conversations booksellers have had with customers.
It was sad and worrying to read about the large number of ignorant questions customers ask booksellers.
I thought the illustrations were cute, funny and imaginative. They showed just how crazy some of the questions customers ask are.
I used to think working in a bookshop would be a relaxing job and there would be plenty of time to read. After reading this book, I realise I was mistaken.
It was a short light read. It was entertaining and it flowed quickly.
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to read a short humorous book.
