This debut absolutely blew me away. I can tell that Audrey poured her soul into it, and that alone made for such an enjoyable read.
This story is not a happy one and it does not have a happy ending - the author warns us of this at the beginning, which I appreciate. There are a lot of heavy topics covered in this book, so please don't skip over the content warning at the beginning if you have triggers 🫢🏻
I loved the characters in this book. Our main character, Lexi, is very likeable and I liked her voice. The narration was easy to read and it felt like I was actually getting the POV of a college student. Her experiences felt real, too.
Our other main character, Tyler, was also very likeable. He had this air of mystery about him which made him interesting. He meshed well with Lexi and I could feel their chemistry.
The ending of this book absolutely destroyed me and I felt the tears coming on. I had this overarching sense of doom towards the end, anyway, and it was much sadder than I was expecting.
I think this book has a super important message, and the author did such an amazing job at approaching the themes of this book with such sensitivity and care.
I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us.
