La Petite Mort by Olivie Blake

4.0

Once again Ms Olivie Blake is serving love-triangles-that-should-or-can-become-polyamory realness!

I think the concept of this book was SO deliciously fun and did a great job of introducing lots of concepts/the main conflict/etc. very quickly. I also love that it was an elevated version of the same 'supernatural war' plot, with a smaller scale and different players. Elisabeth is iconic and frankly if you're reading something and NOT rooting for the sexy vampire are you really reading a piece of supernatural fiction at all???

No spoilers, but I love that even though Jack and Elisabeth had to put the pieces of the greater scheme together at the end, Marisa figured it out for herself FIRST despite the fact that the whole book she had been posed as a disadvantage as a mortal. I just think that's neat!

Altogether, a solid standalone supernatural read! I'm loving exploring Olivie's canon of work before The Atlas Paradox comes out on my birthday hehe
