kaitlphere 's review for:
The Golem and the Jinni
by Helene Wecker
This is my second or third time trying to read this book. The audiobook narrator was very good and helped me finish this book with this attempt.
I love the ideas in this book. The merging of Syrian and Jewish folklore inside a story about the immigrant experience is inspired. I wish I loved this book, but I found the middle of the book very slow and difficult to concentrate on. The end of the book is complex enough that I couldn't let my attention waver at all, which was difficult.
