There is a lot to unpack here. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart.

I’m obsessed with morally black and dark af novels. The more trigger warnings the better. However, this book is the first dark book that made me uncomfortable and I’ve read a lot.
Corpse fucking. ✅
Incest ✅
Blood play ✅
Bdsm ✅
Non consensual ✅

I eat that shit up. However, when there are detailed sex scenes with children who are being trafficked, I just can’t get down with that.

Even the scenes where the adults have sexual encounters are tarnished with flashbacks of child abuse. Not to mention the fmc’s mind is stuck in that of a child’s. So, even tho the two main characters are in love, it’s not very enjoyable.

The book is 300 pages long and if you add up the amount of times the author used the word “dolly” and “rabbit”, the book would prob be half as long.

I did start to lose interest at 3/4 of the way through the book, but stuck it out.

This was my first book by the author and from what I’ve heard her other books are much better. So, I will def check out another one.
