It took me a little while to get into this book because at first it didn’t match my expectations. I picked it up because it was marketed as a sapphic vampire story (don’t worry, it is), but the first maybe 80 pages read more like historical fiction. Once it got going, I loved the premise, the morally nuanced characters, and I was blown away by the ending.
