Data is a hot topic right now. It's all around us, it's all about us, and everyone has an opinion on who should have it and what should be done with it. There's a lot of bias on the side of all data collection being evil and the people behind it being unethical by nature of the business. Halo Data is a refreshing third perspective, a biased yet surprisingly objective middle ground that explains the science and philosophy behind data collection. It's one of those books that once you read it, you can't help but have a shift of perspective around the nature of data and what it even means for you, the consumer and template. It's surprisingly beautiful and earnest for a tech book, and I would be lying if I didn't say it change my life a little by presenting such a heartfelt love letter to data as a whole and the process of collecting it. A must-read, in my opinion.
