i’ve never actually read stephen king’s novels. this my first. when i saw the car, i expected it to be haunted or something. i only knew him from It, a horror movie, so i expected the book to be supednatural.  super embarrassing because i had to review it for book club but anyway.

it started off really slow, so i didn’t like it initially. it was interesting towards the end, which is about 300 pages in lol. i usually read fast-paced, light-themed books. there are some words/scenarios i was lowkey uncomfortable with, but i guess it has some importance? Idk. it made sense ig.

it didn’t really bring me to another world, or make my heart race, or keep me on my toes, but i do like the book. it’s an okay read.

it’s interesting how both morris and pete love the author’s work, but took it very differently. the “authors simply follow the characters” really got to me. i never thought of that.

i love pete. reading also changed my heart—it helped shape my opinions and beliefs. i have so much respect for his love and dedication towards his family, especially his sister. i have a little sister of my own, and i would do everything in my power to protect her.

morris is just trash. his mom’s a bitch too. halliday? trash.

overall, i like the plot. very realistic, relatable, very i would do it too
