I got this book through Goodreads first reads. I gave this book 3 1/2 stars. The book was good it just wasn't great to me. I liked all of the original ideas that were put into this book, but it wasn't able to pull me in. The creatures in this book are wonderfully thought up. the skippers were my favorite out of all of the creatures introduced in this book.The characters were very well defined, and the story line was slowly revealed throughout the book, which is one thing I liked. I hoping I will enjoy book two more since the story line has been mostly revealed. Good book for a different type of YA fantasy.
