Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer

5.0

I love Lou. I don't know how many times my family looked at me weird for laughing so hard at her antics or the things that come out of her mouth. I love that Smeltzer creates a character who knows her value and doesn't settle. My only critique is that Lou mentions her self doubt since she's a plus size gal but she continually mentions her greatness and tries to bolster herself up. A few times, it deterred from the story arc. I get why those aspects are there--it's Lou's defense mechanism in order to remain positive and have a healthy mindset in a world of fat shamers and those who think women should be under a certain weight. Lou's humor was what kept drawing me back. Don't get me wrong, Abel is a total hottie and I wouldn't kick him outta my bed. What makes this book different is how it focuses on her instead of their coupling or even his hotness which in the world of romance, his hotness is usually front and center.

I would like to know more about Miranda and the landlord's little thing--is it just a fling or something more? Just a thought for my friend, Micalea. Inquiring minds want to know...after you write more Willow Creek spin offs for the kids. I'm still impatiently waiting for Cannon's book from The Wild series. I have to add I don't think I've read anything of Micalea's that I didn't love!!
