One Small Thing by Erin Watt
1.0

I’ve read every Erin Watt book that’s been released. When an Erin Watt book shows up on my kindle I put pretty much everything else aside so that I can dive right in. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t do it for me. Let me explain why!

I couldn’t connect with the main characters. I found Beth to be a little bland and honestly kind of annoying. I felt she spent the majority of the book complaining, but didn’t do much to change her situation. Chase while a little more likeable, was equally as frustrating. Beth becomes completely enamoured with Chase but I didn’t feel the romantic connection between the two at all. I’ve seen tons of reviews talking about how this is an angst filled story but I didn’t get that at all.

I also found that this story to be very repetitive. There were honestly times that I thought maybe I screwed up and read the same part over again. Things were a bit predictable as well. I think the authors intended for the reader to figure things out fairly early on. When the ending came I felt that it was rushed. The ending had the potential to redeem Beth for me but it ended up falling a bit flat.
Overall, this book just wasn’t for me. I found the storyline interesting but I just couldn’t get into it. Despite the fact that I didn’t love this one, I can’t wait for the next Erin Watt book!
