Mending Life: A Handbook for Repairing Clothes and Hearts by Nina Montenegro, Sonya Montenegro

4.0

4.5 stars. This creative little book has so much heart. It’s alive with both the how-to, and the bigger why we should, mend our clothing. You don’t need to know a single thing about sewing, or even how to thread a needle, to get started with this book. If you are a mending beginner, this book gives you everything you need to know, snuggled in between little essays on how to come back from our wasteful modern culture, as well as very fun original illustrations. Even though I am familiar with all of the techniques in this book, I still spent a lovely couple of hours reading the essays, looking over the illustrations and dreaming of things I need to mend (or to remake into new iterations).
