V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram

4.0

Someone recommended this book and I was put off by the title, but when I read the synopsis I was intrigued.
This took me back to my high school days where I was a Christian teen in a public High School. I actually saved my first kiss for marriage, so the types of conversations that were sparked here were very relatable and pretty realistic. I’m also a sucker for a celebrity romance, though at some points I wasn’t sure how to feel about how things were unfolding and some people’s choices. But I ended up being really happy with the ending and I am looking forward to reading part two.

Content warning: there is mild swearing and inappropriate comments—it fits the situation and is realistic, but just a heads up that it is a consistent thing in the story along with frank conversations about people being sexually active.

I would personally prefer to avoid this for the younger YA audience, but for an older teen it could be a great conversation starter.
