Ashley has decided to go on her honeymoon, even though she called off the wedding. After all, she did pay an extortionate amount for the trip.
As neither of her besties can go with her, she lets them talk her into hosting a competition on social media for a male companion. They will choose the winner for her, and she won’t even know who it is until they’re at the airport.
The only problem is that deep down, she only wants one man to apply. One of her oldest friends, Maddox.
Ashley and Maddox were so great together. They had the same sense of humour, liked a lot of the same things, had similar views on just about everything…except relationships.
Maddox was convinced he’d only ever be a fling guy. That relationships would always sour things down the line and he’d become a different person. But Ashley had always wanted forever. The marriage, 2.5 kids, white picket fence. Which is why they’d both drawn a line in the sand between them early on. Neither of them ever seeing the other as anything but a very attractive, good friend that flirted a little.
But oohhhhh did they cross that line in the Bahamas! Of course fruit was involved because that’s Adriana Locke’s signature by this point #iykyk
Their chemistry was rife and everyone in their lives could see just how perfect of a match they were. But they had both avoided crossing the line for so long that they’d even been lying to themselves.
I loved how Maddox was just the ultimate gentleman under his flirtatious and false playboy persona. He was the total opposite of her douchebag ex. And screw that guy! Eton was the actual worst.
As usual, Locke has the big family dynamic nailed. The banter between siblings is hilarious and the pranks the guys play on each other are genius.
