Uncanny Collateral by Brian McClellan

5.0

A very easy and well-deserved five stars. Some books are long and winding stories that do not go anywhere. This book is not that. It's tight. The editing, the world building, the way the author throws you in the middle of the things. If you have read urban fantasy before, nothing in this book will take you by surprise. We all know about ghouls, jinns, imps, and other urban fantasy regulars, but McClellan spins it all up in a new dish that is same ingredients but different taste.

In all, it's a fun book to read. It's amazing how much McClellan was able to squeeze into a 150 page count. Nowhere did the story feel like dragging, there is no fluff of filler in this story, the banter between the characters is fantastic. The fight scenes are done well, and there is even a quick dash of mystery in this. A really well cooked dish of a book.

I am definitely putting my money on book 2 being even more fun.

Yeah, so if you are a fan of Harry Dresden and good urban fantasy, pick this one up. Right now!
