Honor on the Cape an On the Cape Novel ( Cape Van Buren #2)
By MK Meredith
Rated 4 stars

This is a sweet second chance romance book filled with laughs, witty banter and of course love. The first reconnection of Blayne and Jamie set the tone for the rest of the book. Jamie wanted to get back what he gave away all those years ago. Blayne would give him no chance..at least on the outside. Inside she was soaking in as much of him as could until he left again. Since that’s what he does....leaves.
Jamie made a mistake 10 years ago. Now he wants to fix it and never let Blayne go again. Jamie’s job (convincing Blayne) was a tough one (not that he doesn’t deserve it) and she didn’t make it easy on him. It seemed he took 4 steps forward and then 2 steps back. I was glad to see he realized his error and was convinced to get the girl. With a little help from their friends and the townsfolk it might get accomplished before she leaves the Cape for good.
Blayne, a poor Irish Girl, was left stranded in the Cape and had to make a life for herself when Jamie left her. I could really feel how much this bothered her and gave her some trust issues. She made a good life for herself and just now had earned money to get back to Ireland to see her family. Welcome back Jamie. Things will be changing or will they?On a side note she was a Roller Derby girl. There were a few scenes but I kinda wish it played a bigger role.

Maxine, her moonshine and her comments! What’s not to love? They tell the truth and usually make me laugh and say “Wha? Did she just say that?” Ha ha ha see I’m smiling and laughing now. I love how her and the Mavens interfere with the younger generation to help their love lives along. Sometimes sneakily other just right in front of them. Ha ha ha so good! Great character!
The writing in this story flowed to nicely. It kept my interest and the characters were great. I enjoyed how I could picture these places and the characters. Nice descriptions! Not too much for me to lose focus but enough to set the scene. I loved when Jamie would talk in his low and deep emotional voice to Blayne...I could hear that in my head! I also loved when they went to visit his parents...very eye opening.
Claire and Mitch...what’s going on with them..stay tuned for the next book.
