Twenty Years at Hull-House by Jane Addams

challenging hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

4.25

My only complaint is that Addams has a bad habit of wandering off from her point or making it in a round-about manner that can take some deciphering. Otherwise, this book is so lovely. Hull House and Addams impress me so much, perhaps even more so because the author is upfront about the shortcomings of both. She doesn’t hide their failures or the situations that she couldn't seem to get on top of, and that is an honest depiction of what public service looks like.
