Daughter of Smoke and Bone
by Laini Taylor
While this skillfully weaves together multiple narratives and certainly had unpredictable elements, I found this book difficult to truly enjoy. Minka’s story felt the most fully fleshed out, and of course that’s the story rooted in historical events so maybe that’s why I felt that way. Every time the book moved to Sage or Leo, though, I found myself drifting away from the story and being more critical. Anyway, it’s a good book and looks thoughtfully at the concept of forgiveness.
