Her Fearful Symmetry
by Audrey Niffenegger
The whole time I was reading this book I felt like its true potential was hovering in the background, never fully realized. The plot was interesting and the characters mostly engaging, but the story suffered--for me--from elements that detracted from its significance. I wanted to enjoy the idea of Elspeth as a ghost, but burning out light bulbs and writing in dust trivialized her character. Her Fearful Symmetry was a good, fun read, but it could have been much more.
