The Book of Witching by C.J. Cooke

4.0

Well, this was a good read, aside from a few infelicities in language and continuity. And I only comment on those because I'm a horrible person who's a stickler for stuff like that.

The narrative bounces back and forth from the 16th century and the trial of a witch, to the present. In the present, there's a mystery in what happened when a ritual results in the death of one teenager and the maiming of another. There's not really a happy ending in the 16th century, but the modern day story ends a bit better.

Stay away from cults, y'all.
