Edit: This is still my least favorite book in the GrishaVerse, but I'm upgrading from 3 stars to 4 because I did eventually fall in love with Alina and the rest of this series.
I wasn't a fan of the main character for much of the book. She complained more than necessary I think to get the readers to believe she was a teen. The plot wasn't straight forward which is usually a good thing, but i think tied with the slow character ties it was hard to fall in love with. Still curious enough to read the sequel and other books by this author. Just not a home run.
