The Chimes by Charles Dickens

3.0

I listened to the audio book and though I wasn't sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was wonderful. I admit, it took me a bit to get into it due the older language. But the message was beautiful and well worth the time.

Something I found interesting was that Dickens divided the the book into four sections he called quarters, related to time on a clock, which the ringing chimes indicated. In the Christmas Carol, he referred to the sections as "staves" , i.e. musical "stanzas", and The Cricket on the Hearth is divided into "chirps".
