The Queer Principles of Kit Webb
by Cat Sebastian
this was a bit of an odd one. the first 75%-ish of the book, I was deeply underwhelmed. it felt as though there was so little driving the story. I was in the heads of both of the characters so there wasn’t any true drama about the relationship, and it felt exceedingly… hollow. the plot also was virtually nothing-
until the last 25%. the plot went in an unexpected direction, characters got some lovely development, and I actually got invested in the relationship. if it had been like that concretely throughout, I would’ve adored the book.
as it was, it was… fine? I guess? other people might find it more compelling - I did get it recommended to me by a friend who quite enjoyed it - but I thought it was overall just… a book. I wouldn’t rec it personally but I wouldn’t tell someone not to read it if it interested them.
however, I’m interested enough in the MCs of the sequel that I’m going to give it a shot. we’ll see how that one pans out.
