I was immediately drawn to this book after reading its blurb, so it was a bummer to find out this was a case where the execution fell short of the fun and twisty main idea. The writing was too bland and quite confusing at times. I liked the plot twist in the first part (I didn’t even think of such a possibility before!), but the actual mystery-solving process felt boring to me. Weird enough, I started to detach from the story once the detective duo appeared. I’m not sure whether I’ll read this author’s other books in the future, though. From what I knew, most of his books have an intriguing plot, but I wasn’t convinced whether his writing and plot twist choices matched my preference yet.
