What a book to read during the election of 2020. If there was anybody who would be Visser Three, it would be Donald Trump.
My 100th book of 2020!
I never read this book as a kid because the cover has Visser Three on it, and I didn't want to read about him. I had NO idea it was really about Visser One (who started the Yeerk take over of California/Earth). I am glad I finally read it, but wow...this book is dark and maybe not even for children? It looks at motherhood, victimization, alien takeover, murder, and well, the dark takeover of planets. The writing is simplistic as it *is* written for upper elementary school age kids, but the themes are...hella dark.
