Of Night and Blood

4.5 ⭐️
I bought this book when Brea was doing a fundraiser for Palestine and am so glad I did! Not only was it a great book, but for a great cause too. I really really enjoyed this story. I felt so connected to Asher almost immediately and could connect with her person wholly so early into the book. I think the other supporting characters were interesting as well, and can definitely see some of them being really flushed out and well rounded with more books. The plot was very well paced and ended with a great twist that has me very excited for book 2! The only reason it wasn’t an absolute 5 for me was the writing felt a little too stiff at times (mostly the lack of contractions felt weird in some places, etc), but for Brea’s first book this was such a solid first foot, I absolutely will be reading book 2, and can’t wait to see what else Brea writes!!!
