The Archer's Tale by Bernard Cornwell

3.0

An English long bowman on the road in Normandy during the Hundred Years War. Our fictional hero crosses paths and interacts with historical characters as he pursues his quest of vengeance and begins to unravel the mystery of his family background, the details of which are no doubt spread over the other three books in this series. Historically, technologically, militarily, and politically accurate, as one expects from Cornwell. Even after reading Barbara Tuchman's exhaustive A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century, I learned some stuff here.
