Batman and Robin, Volume 1: Born to Kill by Guy Major, Patrick Gleason, Mick Gray, Peter J. Tomasi, John Kalisz

5.0

One of the best comic volumes I’ve read in a long time. For one, this volume actually tells a single complete story rather than being one portion of an artificially lengthened soap opera-esque drama that never really ends as is true with so many other collections. And what’s here? Awesome. It’s a story about a father and a son coming to know and respect each other - hopefully, anyway. That father/son combo just happens to be Batman and Robin. It’s a simple idea executed perfectly and brilliantly. I’d heard good things about Tomasi’s run on this book and I’m realizing the hype is real.
