More Than I Could is a complete standalone. It is a grumpy/sunshine, single dad/nanny, small town romance.

Chase is driving down the road when he comes across a stalled vehicle. His first thought is to leave it be and let the driver fend for themself. But he decides to help the stranger instead. Megan, the woman in the car, instantly freaks out when some stranger approaches her vehicle. They exchange a few barbs and eventually go their separate ways. But the next day, they see each other again when they realize she’s the one his mother (and her mother) sent to be a nanny for his fourteen-year old daughter, Kennedy.

Megan and Chase had chemistry from the start, but they both tried to deny it. Megan was only there for a month, and Chase didn’t want anyone to get close because it would affect his daughter.

Chase was such a great dad to Kennedy. It was obvious how much he loved her and wanted to protect her. I liked seeing Megan’s bond with Kennedy too! Kennedy is 14, so she’s not exactly a child. There were things she didn’t feel comfortable discussing with her father, because they were just things he wouldn’t understand. But with the relationship she formed with Megan, she was able to open up and trust her.

This book was low angst and full of heartfelt conversations. There were also funny moments as well. It was another great book by Adriana Locke, and I hope Chase’s siblings get stories too.
