That Fatal Night: The Titanic Diary of Dorothy Wilton
by Sarah Ellis
Reread the book and I have to agree that it's a bit short and a little more fast-paced than I expected when she gets to the part about the Titanic sinking. But ultimately it's a great historical book for kids. I like the fact that Ellis chooses to start the story AFTER the disaster, then lead up to it as Dorothy comes to terms with what happened, ultimately ending on a positive note. I especially appreciated the small instances of PTSD that Dorothy exhibited and think it would still be an easy read for children.
